My name is Lisa Sommers. I live in Stevens Point, WI, which is right in the middle of the state.
I am married (7 years) and have a 4 1/2 year old son.
I am a Ballroom Dance Instructor, and just graduated from Ballroom Dance Teachers College in Menasha [Appleton,] WI.
I am teaching in Wisconsin Rapids at the YMCA Camp Alexander, and also teaching private lessons by arrangement.
My husband drives truck, for Pioneer Transport, in Merrill, WI. His description of himself: “I fish, play chess & sheepshead, and mostly think. I love music. I am that annoying kid who’s always asking ‘why?'”
My son is an adorable, extremely healthy and energetic handful of very typical BOY! He enjoys cars, trucks, books, movies, fixing, smashing, running, yelling, jumping, and fortunately for me, snuggling.
I have just been approved to start a new Rachel’s Vineyard site in our town. This is something that I’ve been praying for and working on for a little over a year now. Rachel’s Vineyard seeks to facilitate healing for anyone suffering from the loss of abortion. The primary outreach is through weekend retreats, 1 -2 times per year. This ministry is extremely important to me!
To sum myself up in a phrase:
MY LIFE IS ABOUT LEARNING…CHALLENGING AND ENRICHING MYSELF IN ANY WAY I CAN, AND HOPEFULLY IN THE PROCESS, THOSE AROUND ME.
